Can you trust the pagerank for a site?
Friday, February 2nd, 2007One of the factors you should be taking into account is Google Page Rank across the website. But is it correct? Has it been faked?
There appear to be several ways to fake Page Rank for example using a cloaking script that shows the googlebot something different than the rest of us sees. See http://www.monetizers.com/fake-pr.php for an example. Although I think this method is now detected by Google
One quick way to test PR is to use one of the many PR testers
What value do you place on PR? In particular Text Link brokers require pages to have a certain level of PR and Alexa Ranking before you can place an advert on your site. So the more high PR pages you have in a site the greater the value.
